101 Candies: A Sugar-Coated Cluster Grid from NetEnt

How Cluster Pays Works on the 7x7 Grid

Forget paylines here. Wins land when five or more matching candies connect horizontally or vertically anywhere on the 49-position grid. When a cluster pays, those symbols are removed and fresh ones drop in to fill the gaps, an effect NetEnt calls Avalanche. A single paid spin can therefore chain into several consecutive wins, and each link in that chain is where the multiplier mechanic starts to matter.

The Wild Conveyor and Multiplier Wilds

Sitting above the grid is the Wild Conveyor, the feature that defines this game. It holds a queue of multiplier wilds carrying values from 2x all the way up to 101x. Every time an Avalanche triggers, the leftmost wild drops onto the grid, the rest of the queue shifts one space left, and a new wild appears on the right. Because each cascade feeds another multiplier wild onto the board, a long winning chain can stack genuinely large multipliers onto a single cluster.

Feature Coins and Random Modifiers

Feature Coins add an extra layer of unpredictability during avalanches. Landing one triggers one of four modifiers: an upgrade that raises the conveyor's multiplier values, a scramble that reshuffles the queue, a transform that turns one symbol type into another to help build clusters, or a destroy that clears wilds from the belt. These keep no two sequences feeling quite the same and give the base game more texture than a straightforward cascading slot.

Free Spins Bonus

Land 3 to 8 scatters in a single play and you trigger the bonus round, awarding 10 to 15 free spins depending on how many scatters dropped. The Wild Conveyor resets once at the start of the round, then runs through the free spins with the same multiplier and Feature Coin behavior as the base game, which is where the headline wins tend to build.

Max Win and Volatility

The top payout on 101 Candies is 3,500x your stake, reached when long avalanche chains combine high conveyor multipliers across the free spins. The low-to-medium volatility means clusters arrive reasonably often during normal play, so the swings are gentler than the 3,500x ceiling might suggest. It is a profile that suits players who want regular activity on the grid rather than long dry spells punctuated by rare hits.
