How We Verify Game Facts

How Slottomat verifies slot facts: RTP, volatility, max win, paylines. Our database-first, provider-sourced method, confidence levels, and corrections.

Popular Free Slots

Slottomat lists facts for the slots in our catalog where we have them — return to player (RTP), volatility, maximum win, paylines, provider, and theme. This page explains exactly where those facts come from, how we decide which source wins when they disagree, and how we fix mistakes.

This is the technical companion to our Editorial Policy, which covers how our slot pages are written and presented. This page covers the layer underneath that: the data record itself.

What we verify

For each game, these are the facts we record and display (where each one comes from, and how far it has been checked, is explained below):

  • RTP — the game’s theoretical return-to-player percentage, as published for the game.
  • Volatility — how a game’s outcomes vary (low, medium, or high), as published for the game.
  • Maximum win — the theoretical top payout, expressed as a multiplier of the stake (for example, “up to 5,000x”).
  • Paylines / ways to win — the game’s win-line or ways count.
  • Provider — the studio that built the game (for example, Pragmatic Play, NetEnt, Play’n GO).
  • Theme — the game’s subject (Egyptian, fishing, ocean, fruit, and so on).
  • Playable demo — whether the free, no-money demo actually loads.

Our source hierarchy (database-first)

We do not invent figures. Our source policy uses the following order, although the facts box does not apply it automatically yet:

  1. Our first-party game database is the system of record. Each game is a structured record in a database we maintain ourselves, and each fact lives in its own field. Every value in a game’s facts box is read from that field — not typed by hand into the page.
  2. The studio’s official information comes first - that is our policy. The game’s own rules screen and the studio’s own game page outrank every other source. The facts box does not apply this policy automatically yet: today it shows figures from the SlotsLaunch games feed first, then existing Slottomat data. We are checking figures against the studios’ information page by page, and a facts-box change that shows the studio’s figure is being built.
  3. Some figures still come from a secondary source. Many records were first filled from the SlotsLaunch games feed, a third-party data service rather than the provider. We are checking those figures against the provider’s own information page by page and correcting the wrong ones. We never fill a field with an estimate.

A blank field means we have no figure for it. An empty RTP field means “no published figure yet,” not “zero.”

How we handle conflicting numbers

Slot facts can legitimately differ between sources — providers ship multiple RTP versions of the same game, and older third-party listings go stale. When sources conflict, we resolve it at the record level:

  • The studio’s official figure should take precedence over any third-party number (our policy; see above for how far the facts box applies it today).
  • Where a game has multiple published RTP versions, the facts box shows one available published figure, which may not match every casino’s configuration of the game, and we don’t present one configuration as if it were universal.
  • When official sources disagree and we cannot resolve it, we publish neither figure as confirmed, rather than pick one and present false certainty.

About RTP specifically

RTP is a long-run theoretical figure published by the game’s provider. It describes how a game is designed to behave over a very large number of spins — it is not a prediction of any individual session. To be clear about what our RTP figure is and isn’t:

  • It is the theoretical RTP published for the game, recorded in our database from the sources described above.
  • It is not an independently re-measured figure. We do not run our own millions-of-spins simulations to derive a separate number; the facts box shows one available figure, which may come from the SlotsLaunch feed, existing Slottomat data or a checked studio source; it does not yet say for each value which one.
  • Because providers can release multiple RTP versions of a game, the published figure is the design target for that version, not a guarantee for any single play. Our games are free demos, so this never involves money.

Demo availability checks

A fact about a game is only useful if you can actually try the game. Every game in our catalog is meant to have a working free demo that loads with no download, no registration, and no real money.

  • Games whose demo stops loading are hidden or removed when we find them, so you don’t land on a dead page.
  • If a demo does not load for you, tell us through our Contact page and we will check it.

Updates and re-checks

Game data is not static — providers patch games, adjust RTP versions, and release new titles.

  • When a studio updates a game, we re-check its figures against the studio’s information when we review that page.
  • Figures that came from the secondary feed are being re-checked against the provider’s official information, page by page.
  • Corrections go live as soon as we confirm them; we do not wait for a scheduled pass.

Found something wrong? Tell us.

We want our facts to be right, and we’d rather hear about an error than leave it live.

  • If you spot an RTP, max-win, payline, provider, or any other detail that looks wrong, report it through our Contact page.
  • We re-check the flagged fact against the provider’s official source and correct the record if it’s wrong.

What we don’t claim

In the interest of being straight with you:

  • We report the published theoretical RTP, not an independently audited or re-measured one.
  • We do not predict winnings, and nothing on this site is a real-money product.
  • Casino offers shown on the site are clearly-disclosed advertising from partners and do not influence our game facts.
  • We focus on accurate game mechanics, features, and specs. We do not publish betting systems or strategies — slot outcomes are random, and these are free demos with no real money at stake.

Common questions

Is the RTP independently tested?

No. We show the game’s published theoretical RTP, from the sources described above. We do not run our own simulations to re-measure it, and we don’t claim to.

Why is an RTP field sometimes blank?

Because we have no published figure for that game yet. We leave it empty rather than publish a guess.

How do I report a wrong fact?

Use our Contact page. We’ll re-check the flagged detail against the provider’s official source and correct our record if it’s wrong.
