🎮 Our Reactoonz Playtest
Hands-on demo session · Jul 2, 2026
The cluster explosion animation fired on our spin — a 0.20 win, with the left meter logging five symbols at 0.20 as the winning aliens popped. Reactoonz plays on a 7x7 cluster grid of one-eyed and multi-eyed blob creatures against deep blue space, with the Quantum charge device and its domed, three-eyed beast on the right.
That grid is worth flagging: it's cluster pays on a full 7x7 board, not the reel-and-payline setup you might expect. An intro splash about charging Quantum features appears first, then it's the standard Play'n GO bar — our balance read 24,997.00 at a 1.00 bet.
Our Play Session Notes (July 2026)
We played 48 spins of the Reactoonz demo on this page at the default 1.00 stake, starting from the demo's 25,000-credit balance. The highlight came around spin 22, when a charged Demolition feature fired mid-round and set off a seven-step cascade chain worth 7.20 — including an 8-symbol pink cluster that paid exactly the 5.00 the paytable lists. We watched the Quantum meter take charges twice, saw a fluctuating symbol leave wilds behind, and finished on 24,988.20 — just 11.80 down over the whole session, because small clusters kept chipping back between quiet spins. The full Gargantoon never released for us; that fifth charge is genuinely rare. One session note for expectation-setting: the demo timed out once while we sat reading the paytable, so keep spinning if you step away. Details of how we test are in our verification methodology.
There are no paylines. Wins form when five or more matching alien symbols connect horizontally or vertically anywhere on the grid. Winning symbols are removed, new ones cascade in, and a single spin can chain several wins in a row. Those cascades feed the Quantumeter — the charge meter that drives every feature in the game.
The Quantumeter and the Four Quantum Features
The Quantumeter sits beside the grid and charges as you win: every 25 winning symbols add one random Quantum Feature to the line, and up to four can be queued in a single round:
- Implosion: transforms three to six random symbols into wilds and destroys all symbols adjacent to them, creating space for new symbols to cascade in.
- Alteration: selects one random one-eyed (low-value) symbol type and transforms every instance of it into a different symbol.
- Demolition: destroys all one-eyed symbols, letting a fresh wave of symbols cascade down.
- Incision: places a wild in the center of the grid and converts two diagonal lines of symbols into one randomly selected symbol type.
Queued features fire once a spin's cascades stop, and a feature can spark fresh cascades that charge the next. That chain reaction — not one lucky spin — is where the 4,570x ceiling comes from.
Gargantoon: The 3x3 Wild
Charge the line a fifth time in the same round and the Gargantoon lands as a 3x3 wild covering nine grid positions. On subsequent cascades it splits into two 2x2 wilds, then into nine 1x1 wilds. With that many wilds on the grid, cascades feed into each other, and this is where the game's largest payouts occur.
Giantoonz, Fluctuation and Instability
Three smaller mechanics run alongside, exactly as the in-game rules describe them. Giantoonz: whenever four matching symbols land adjacent in a 2x2 square they merge into a Giantoon, and any win a Giantoon takes part in is doubled. Fluctuation: each spin marks one random one-eyed symbol type as fluctuating — if marked symbols are part of a win, they leave two wild symbols behind. Instability: on any non-winning spin, the Gargantoon may take pity and drop four to eight wilds onto the grid.
Reactoonz RTP, Volatility, Max Win and Bets
The Reactoonz RTP is 96.51%, slightly above the roughly 96% industry average. Volatility is high: expect stretches of quiet spins broken by sudden bursts of chained cascades, especially when Quantum Features or the Gargantoon trigger. The maximum win is 4,570x the total bet, typically requiring the Gargantoon during a cascade where high-value symbols dominate the grid — a solid ceiling for a 2017 release. Bets run from 0.20 per spin. Game specs are also published on the official Play'n GO site.
Symbols on the 7x7 Grid
Every regular symbol is a cartoon alien in one of two tiers. One-eyed aliens in pink, green, yellow, and light blue form the low-value tier: they appear often and underpin most cluster wins. Two-eyed aliens in darker colors form the high-value tier and pay significantly more per cluster. The wild is a glowing, multicolored energy cell that substitutes for all regular symbols; wilds come mainly from Quantum Features and the Instability mechanic rather than landing naturally, which makes each appearance high-impact.
About the Demo
The demo is mechanically identical to the full edition — same 96.51% RTP, volatility model, feature triggers, and payout structure — with virtual credits instead of real funds. It is a practical way to learn the cluster system and watch how cluster size affects the Quantumeter fill rate.
Reactoonz 2 and Similar Play'n GO Slots
Reactoonz 2 is the direct sequel: the same 7x7 cluster format with additional wild mechanics layered on top of the original's framework. For more grid slots from Play'n GO, Diamond Vortex shares the cascade-plus-charge-meter structure, and Viking Runecraft pairs cluster pays with a rune-based progression system. Rise of Olympus and Moon Princess use the grid-and-meter formula in mythological settings, while Book of Dead and Legacy of Dead are the studio's best-known traditional reel slots. All are playable free at Slottomat.
