How the Megaways Engine Reshapes the Reels
The Megaways mechanic is licensed from Big Time Gaming. On every spin, each of the six reels shows between 2 and 7 symbols, so the number of ways to win changes constantly — from 64 at the low end up to the full 117,649. Unlike many Megaways releases there are no cascading wins: each spin settles and resets.
The cartoon backyard setting carries over from the original, with four dogs as the high-paying symbols and a dog collar, a bone and the card ranks A, K, Q, J and 10 below them. The Wild substitutes for all non-scatter symbols, and wilds on reels 2 to 5 land with a multiplier of up to 3x attached. Bets run from 0.20 to 240 per spin on the information screen we read, and the range varies by casino.
Sticky Wilds or Raining Wilds: Choosing Your Bonus
Land 3 to 6 scatter symbols to trigger free spins. Before the feature starts, you choose one of two modes:
- Sticky Wilds: 7 to 20 free spins, depending on how many scatters triggered the bonus. Every wild that lands locks in place for the rest of the feature, each carrying a 1x, 2x or 3x multiplier, with room for up to 7 sticky wilds on each reel.
- Raining Wilds: 15 to 30 free spins, with up to 6 wilds dropping into random positions on every spin, each with its own 1x, 2x or 3x multiplier. These wilds do not stick, but fresh ones keep arriving throughout the feature.
In both modes, when several multiplier wilds contribute to the same win, their multipliers multiply together — a 2x and a 3x wild on the same way produce a 6x total on that win. Sticky Wilds suits players who want the board to build up; Raining Wilds trades accumulation for a longer feature. Where the option is available, a Bonus Buy enters the feature directly for 100x your total bet.
