Anubis 2

Anubis 2: A High-Stakes Return to the Egyptian Underworld

Game Overview and Theme

Anubis 2 transports you to a stylized, shadowy chamber deep within a pyramid. The visuals are a step up from the original, featuring a rich, dark color palette illuminated by glowing golden accents and eerie torchlight. The reels are set against stone carvings, with the imposing figure of Anubis himself watching over the gameplay. The soundtrack is a haunting, atmospheric blend of traditional Middle Eastern melodies and suspenseful tones that perfectly captures the theme of venturing into the unknown. Symbols on the reels include the classic A, K, Q, J, and 10, rendered in a hieroglyphic-inspired font, alongside thematic icons like the Eye of Horus, a golden scarab beetle, an ankh, and a ceremonial mask. The game's aesthetic is cohesive and immersive, creating a tense and engaging atmosphere for your spin session.

How to Play Anubis 2: Rules & Features

Getting started with Anubis 2 is straightforward. The game is played on a standard 5x3 grid with a fixed number of paylines. Your first step is to set your total bet using the coin value selector, which adjusts the stake per line. With the bet range, you can tailor your risk from a minimal amount up to a more substantial total wager. The core objective is to land matching symbols on adjacent reels from the leftmost reel onwards. The most valuable standard symbol is the Anubis Mask, followed by the other thematic icons. The game also includes Wild symbols, which substitute for all regular symbols to help form winning combinations. The real excitement, however, lies in the special features that can trigger during both the base game and the bonus round, which we will explore next.

Special Features and Bonus Rounds

While Anubis 2 may appear classic in structure, it packs a potent punch with its features, crucial for navigating its very high volatility.

• Scatter Symbols & Free Spins: Landing three or more Pyramid Scatter symbols anywhere on the reels triggers the main Free Spins bonus round. The number of free spins awarded typically depends on the number of Scatters landed. This is the primary gateway to the game's biggest win potential.

• Anubis Respins Feature: This can occur randomly in the base game. When activated, the mighty Anubis can stride onto the reels, turning one or more entire reels completely Wild. This feature can lead to massive, unexpected wins during standard spins.

• Win Multipliers (in Free Spins): During the Free Spins round, the potential for wins escalates. It's common for a win multiplier to be active, increasing the value of any combinations landed. In some iterations or triggered events, these multipliers can grow with consecutive wins, offering a path to truly legendary payouts.

• Gamble Feature: After any win, players often have the option to gamble their winnings in a classic double-or-nothing card guess game. This is a high-risk choice that can quickly amplify a small win or wipe it out entirely, perfectly suited to the game's high-stakes nature.

RTP, Volatility, and Max Win Potential

The statistical profile of Anubis 2 clearly defines its target audience. With an RTP (Return to Player) set at 94%, it sits slightly below the industry average. This theoretical percentage indicates a higher house edge over an extended period. More significantly, the game is classified as having Very High Volatility. This means wins will not land frequently, but when they do, they have the potential to be significantly larger than your initial stake. This model caters to players with sufficient bankrolls who are patient and understand that long dry spells are part of the journey toward a potentially massive payout. The maximum win potential, while not a progressive jackpot, is a substantial fixed amount that can be achieved through the perfect storm of features, like expanded wilds and high multipliers during free spins. Anubis 2 vs. The Original & Other Egyptian Slots

Sequels aim to improve, and Anubis 2 refines the formula of the first game. While the core Egyptian theme and the presence of the Anubis Respins feature remain, the sequel often features enhanced graphics, more polished animations, and a more engaging free spins mechanic with clearer win potential. Compared to the vast library of Egyptian-themed slots, Anubis 2 stands out due to its specific very high volatility model from Reflex Gaming. It offers a more brutal, less frequent hit rate than many popular Egyptian titles from other providers like Play'n GO, which often feature high volatility but with more bonus triggers.
