Spindrift 2: JDB Gaming Returns to the Surf

Reels, Lines and How Wins Land

Spindrift 2 plays across five reels and five rows. Rather than locking you into a fixed bet shape, JDB offers selectable line counts that scale up to 88 paylines, with 38 and 68 also available for players who want to trim the stake per spin. Wins are formed by matching symbols along active lines, and the higher-paying icons lean into the seaside theme while lower values fill out the rest of the grid. Winning combinations clear away and let new symbols tumble down into the empty spaces, so a single spin can cascade into further wins. The wider 5x5 board gives the multiplier and wild features more room to work than the original's smaller frame ever did.

The Splashing Wild and Bonus Suite

The headline mechanic is the Splashing Wild, which randomly turns one of the middle reels (reel 2, 3 or 4) fully wild. When it lands it guarantees a win, and the wild reel stays active across the cascades that follow within the same spin, so a single trigger can chain into a run of payouts rather than just a near-miss. Wilds substitute for regular symbols to help complete lines, and the game also makes use of stacked symbols that can fill more of a reel at once for bigger line hits.

The Free Spins Bonus

Scatter symbols open the door to the free spins, and this is where Spindrift 2 distinguishes itself. Landing three or more scatters triggers the Free Spins bonus, a round built around a progressive win multiplier. Rather than a flat boost, the multiplier climbs incrementally as wins land during the feature, so the longer a streak of winning spins runs, the larger the multiplier applied to your payouts becomes.

That building multiplier is the most appealing part of the design. The free spins reward sustained runs of wins, and combined with the cascading reels and the Splashing Wild a single bonus can stack up into a standout result.

RTP and Volatility

Spindrift 2 runs at a return to player of around 96%, which sits squarely in the standard band for modern video slots and is a reassuring number to see on a title whose original kept its math quieter. The volatility lands in the medium range, meaning the balance between how often wins arrive and how large they grow is fairly even. That makes it a comfortable fit for moderate balances: you are not signing up for the brutal dry spells of a high-variance game, but the free spins multiplier still leaves room for a standout session.

Betting Range and Mobile Play

Stakes at Slottomat span from 0.10 per spin, a wide enough spread to suit both cautious players and those who like to push the bet up once they have a feel for the rhythm.
