The Johnan Legendarian: A Barbarian's Quest Through Yggdrasil's Reels
Reels, Symbols, and Theme
The lower-value symbols are stylised card-suit icons, while the premium symbols lean into the fantasy setting with a hawk, a battle axe, a warrior's helmet, and the titular Johnan hero as the top payer. The art direction is the slot's most striking feature: a detailed, almost storybook aesthetic backed by an epic soundtrack that builds as the reels spin. It is a noticeably more characterful presentation than many of Yggdrasil's straightforward fantasy releases.
The Wizard Wild and Scatter
The Wizard is the key symbol in the game, acting as a combined wild and scatter. As a wild it substitutes for all regular pay symbols to help complete winning combinations, and as a scatter it is the symbol that unlocks the bonus round. It carries no multiplier of its own; the slot's real differentiator is the expanding-symbol mechanic that takes over once the free spins begin.
Free Spins Feature
Landing three or more Wizard scatters anywhere on the reels awards 10 free spins. At the start of the round, one regular symbol is chosen at random to become a special expanding symbol that can stretch to cover full reels whenever enough of it lands, much like a classic book-style feature. The round can be retriggered by landing three or more scatters again, and each retrigger adds another randomly chosen expanding symbol, so the more you retrigger the more ways the reels can fill. A separate Super Free Spins tier, collected over time via near-miss scatter pairs, plays out the same way and can also be extended through retriggers.
RTP and Volatility
The Johnan Legendarian runs at a theoretical RTP of 96.03%, sitting right around the industry average. Its defining trait is high volatility, which means stretches of small or blank spins punctuated by the occasional large hit. A patient approach and a balance sized to absorb the dry spells suit this game best, since the value is concentrated in the expanding-symbol free spins rather than steady base-game returns.
Max Win and Betting Range
The maximum win potential reaches more than 5,000x your stake (a top payout of 250,000 EUR), reached in the best case when stacked expanding symbols cover the reels during free spins, helped along by retriggers. Day to day, the bigger bonus rounds tend to land well below that figure, but the top end is firmly in line with Yggdrasil's reputation for high payout caps. Stakes run from a minimum of 0.10 up to a maximum of 50 per spin, giving the game room for both cautious testers and higher rollers.
