The visual and audio design is cohesive, creating an atmospheric holiday atmosphere that is both cheerful and elegant, arguably making it a contender for our list of Slots with Best Graphics. The user interface is clean and intuitive, with wins paid across 10 fixed paylines.
Core Gameplay & Symbols
The gameplay in Book Of Xmas 2 will feel familiar to fans of the genre. You win by landing three or more matching symbols on a payline, starting from the leftmost reel. The lower-value symbols are the card royals (10, J, Q, K, A) styled in a frosty blue decorative font. The most important symbol, however, is the Book. This golden tome acts as both the Wild and the Scatter symbol. As a Wild, it can substitute for any regular paying symbol to help form winning combinations. Its true power is revealed as a Scatter, where landing three or more anywhere on the reels triggers the Free Spins feature. The Free Spins & Special Expanding Symbol Feature
This is where Book Of Xmas 2 comes to life and where its very high volatility is most apparent. When you land three, four, or five Book Scatter symbols, you are awarded 10 free spins. Before the round begins, one regular paying symbol (excluding the Book) is randomly chosen to become the Special Expanding Symbol for the duration of the free spins. If this symbol appears in sufficient numbers on the reels during the feature, it will expand to cover the entire reel, potentially leading to multiple full-reel expansions and enormous wins. This mechanic is the heart of the game's big win potential. The feature can also be retriggered by landing three or more Book Scatters during the free spins, adding another 10 spins to your total.
Volatility, RTP, and Betting Strategy
Book Of Xmas 2 is a very high volatility slot. This means wins can be less frequent, but when they do occur, they have the potential to be much larger than your initial stake. The top RTP configuration is 96.14%, and operators can also deploy lower settings of 89.14%, 92.85% or 94.28%. Given the volatility, a strategic approach to betting is advisable. It's wise to start with smaller bets to familiarize yourself with the game's rhythm and to ensure your balance can withstand the potential dry spells while waiting for the Free Spins feature to hit.
How It Compares to Other Spinomenal Slots
Spinomenal has a diverse portfolio, and Book Of Xmas 2 sits firmly within its popular "Book of" and seasonal categories. It shares the core expanding symbol mechanic with other titles but distinguishes itself with its premium holiday theme. If you enjoy the gameplay of Book Of Xmas 2 but want a different theme, you might explore titles like Majestic Leprechaun for an Irish twist. For a completely different Spinomenal experience, consider the ultra-simplified classic style of Pick A Fruit or the innovative single-reel formats like 1 Reel Demi Gods IV and the festive 1 Reel Xmas. Fans of hold-and-hit mechanics might also enjoy the exciting Mega Zeus - Hold & Hit 3x3.
Graphics, Sound & Mobile Experience
The graphical presentation in Book Of Xmas 2 is a clear step up, with detailed symbols and a rich, atmospheric background. The animations are smooth, particularly when the Special Expanding Symbol fills a reel, which is accompanied by satisfying visual and sound effects. The soundtrack is a gentle, melodic Christmas tune that enhances the festive mood without being intrusive. The gameplay and features are identical on mobile, offering a perfect on-the-go slot experience during the holiday season or any time of year.
