Diamonds Power XXL: Hold and Win Slot Overview
Playson's Diamonds Power XXL: Hold and Win is a no-frills, classic-style slot built entirely around one bonus feature. If you want a complex narrative or cascading reels, this is not it. The game is a straightforward, high-stakes hunt for the Hold and Win round, and the base game can feel like a long, dry wait for it.
RTP, Volatility & Math Model
The official RTP for this game is 95.66%, and no official max win is stated. The high volatility tag means you should expect long stretches without significant wins, with the model designed to pay out less frequently but with higher potential when it does. The bet range runs from a penny up to $20 per spin.
Game Features & Mechanics
This is a 3-reel, 3-row slot with a standard set of paylines. The base game is simple. You spin reels filled with classic symbols like cherries, lemons, bells, and the red diamond 7. A Wild symbol is present alongside the Bonus and Power Bonus symbols. The aim of the base game is to land six or more special Diamond Money symbols anywhere on the reels, which is the only way into the Hold and Win bonus round.
In the Hold and Win feature you move to a new set of reels where only special symbols appear: Diamond Money symbols with cash values, and Lucky Diamond symbols. All triggering symbols lock in place and you get three respins. Each time a new special symbol lands, it also locks and resets the respin counter back to three. The round continues until you run out of respins or fill all 15 positions on the grid, then you collect the sum of all cash values. The Lucky Diamond symbols have no value themselves but multiply the total win in the round when collected, so the top results require a nearly full screen of high-value multipliers.
The main criticism of the mechanics is the emptiness of the base game. The trigger threshold of six money symbols is also high, which adds to the long, tense waits that come with the high volatility.
Visual Design & Theme
Playson has gone for a clean, retro-modern look. The gem-studded reel frame and deep purple background have a certain sleekness, and the symbols are well-rendered, especially the diamonds and the number 7. The theme, though, is generic "luxury diamonds", with casino lounge music and standard spin and reel-stop sounds. The visual focus is the bonus round, where the locked symbols glow and the win meter ticks up.
Who Should Play Diamonds Power XXL: Hold and Win?
This slot is built for a specific player: the high-volatility purist who is patient, has a healthy balance, and is focused on chasing a large bonus round payout. You need to be comfortable spinning dozens, maybe hundreds, of times with little feedback before reaching the feature. If you enjoy the tension of a "link&win" or "hold&win" style game and don't mind a barren base game, it may click for you.
Conversely, avoid Diamonds Power XXL if you prefer slots with engaging base games, frequent smaller wins to extend playtime, or thematic depth. Casual players, or those frustrated by long dead spells, will likely find it tedious. It is a one-trick pony, but for the right player that one trick can be compelling.
Play Diamonds Power XXL: Hold and Win Free Demo
Given its high-risk, high-reward nature, the free demo on slottomat.com is a smart way to test it. You can get a feel for the base game's pace and see how often the bonus round triggers at no cost, which is the best way to decide if this stripped-down, volatile hunt is your style.
