Eye of Horus

Eye of Horus: A Timeless Egyptian Adventure

Game Theme and Visual Design

Merkur's Eye of Horus transports you directly to the heart of ancient Egyptian mythology. The reels are set against a backdrop of hieroglyph-covered temple walls, with ambient sounds that evoke the mystery of a pharaoh's tomb. The symbols are beautifully rendered in a classic, clean style, featuring iconic imagery like the Ankh, the Scarab Beetle, the majestic Falcon, and the elegant Queen of Egypt. The highest paying standard symbol is the game's namesake, the all-seeing Eye of Horus itself. The visual design prioritizes clarity and atmosphere over flashy 3D animations, creating a timeless and atmospheric experience that has proven to be endlessly appealing. This focus on core slot mechanics makes it a perfect title for those looking to understand how to play slots online without overwhelming complexity.

Symbols, Paylines, and Betting Range

The game is built on a standard 5x3 reel grid with 20 fixed paylines, meaning wins are calculated across all 20 lines on every spin. Players can adjust their total bet using the clear interface, choosing a coin value that suits their balance. The minimum possible bet is EUR0.10, while high-stakes players can wager up to EUR100 per single spin, offering a wide spectrum for all playing styles.

• High-Paying Symbols: Eye of Horus (Wild), Queen, Falcon, Scarab, Ankh.

• Low-Paying Symbols: Standard playing card icons (10, J, Q, K, A) styled with an Egyptian font.

• Special Symbol: The Eye of Horus symbol acts as both the Wild and the Scatter symbol in this game.

This dual-function symbol is the key to unlocking the game's most exciting feature. For more on how paylines and symbol combinations work, check out our detailed slots rules guide.

Special Features and Bonus Rounds

Eye of Horus may seem simple at first glance, but its power lies in a rewarding and straightforward Free Spins feature, triggered by its special Wild/Scatter symbol.

• Wild & Scatter Symbol: The Eye of Horus symbol substitutes for all other symbols to help form winning combinations. More importantly, landing 3, 4, or 5 of these symbols anywhere on the reels triggers the Free Spins bonus round.

• Free Spins Feature: Triggering the feature awards 10 free spins. During this round, a special expanding symbol is randomly chosen at the start. When this symbol appears and can form part of a win, it expands to cover the entire reel, significantly boosting your payout potential. This feature can be re-triggered by landing another 3 or more Scatter symbols during the free spins, adding more spins to your total.

The elegance of this feature is its simplicity and high potential. The expanding symbol can lead to massive wins, especially if it's one of the game's high-value icons. This mechanic is a hallmark of many advanced strategy games that veterans appreciate for their clear risk-and-reward structure.
