Which matters more, high RTP or high volatility?

Volatility matters more to your evening; RTP matters more to your lifetime. The difference is sample size. Can a slot be high RTP and high volatility at once?

Yes, and Relax Gaming’s Book of 99 is the clean example: 99% return with high volatility. That combination means the game gives back almost everything it takes, but in rare concentrated payouts rather than a steady drip. A long unlucky run on Book of 99 is entirely consistent with its 99%.
